Hi, I’m Mika

I’m a licensed pediatric speech-language pathologist specializing in early intervention and speech sound disorders. I believe therapy should be skilled and fun, individualized and family-centered, and flexible so we can support your child best each week.

The Heart Behind A Speech Storey

Working with kids is truly where I’m meant to be. I LOVE playing, being silly, getting messy, and building real connections with the children and families I work with. I created A Speech Storey because I wanted to provide speech therapy that felt different. High-quality, individualized care where kids feel comfortable, families feel supported, and therapy feels like play.

My specialty areas include early intervention and speech sound disorders. During early intervention sessions, we use your child’s favorite toys alongside engaging toys from my therapy bag to create a natural, play-based learning environment. Purposeful, evidence-based language strategies are woven into play to support your child’s language and communication development in ways that feel fun and connected.

For children with speech sound disorders, therapy is tailored to how your child learns and what they need to be successful. I work with articulation and phonological disorders, as well as childhood apraxia of speech (CAS). I am trained in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) and PROMPT Level 1 certified through the PROMPT Institute, allowing me to draw from specialized approaches when supporting your child’s speech development.

I’m here to empower and encourage you with practical strategies you can use in everyday routines so you feel confident supporting your child’s skills outside of our therapy sessions.
